Manchester’s Most Haunted

This halloween we created an interactive map showcasing Manchester’s most haunted spots to get everyone in the Halloween spirit.

Featuring frightful locations from all over the city, Manchester’s Most Haunted can be used to educate yourself around the sinister goings on from Manchester’s history. The map has a timeline feature where you can learn about the haunting tales of years gone by, or you can browse by area to find out if any supernatural sightings have been reported on your doorstep… And, if you’re feeling really brave, you could even use the map to head out in search of the dead.

There’s 10 chilling locations shown using the map, each detailing the year the spooky sites date back to, the backstory of what makes them so creepy, and illustrations and photographs of each scene.

The whereabouts of these haunted spots includes the Greengate Brewery in Middleton, where workers have mysteriously been falling to their deaths since as far back as the 1800s. The map also includes the likes of Ordsall Hall, Oldham Coliseum Theatre, and Ryecroft Hall – where a Victorian girl is said to roam the premises at night.

Our piece caught the ‘evil eye’ of Manchester’s press. I Love Manchester, Manchester Wire and The Manc all featured our map of the city – encouraging locals to use our site to get out ghost hunting. This was in addition to Prolific North and Manchester Digital highlighting the Manchester’s Most Haunted site, detailing the features and details of our creation.
