Deceit 2 is an immersive 6-9 player social deduction horror experience that can be played with friends or online. Your goal is simple, escape the Ritual. Ahead of launching on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, the Deceit team approached us with the challenge of creating a website that highlighted the immersive narrative of the game and one that enticed users to learn more.
Journey Into The In-Between
The Ritual of Deceit occurs inside The In-between, and the Deceit website design needed to set the scene by expanding upon the user interface of the game itself.
The In-between is a realm of madness but more so misery. Where the infected hunt the innocent, and the innocent simply hunt a return to normality.
Two Worlds Combining
To ensure the site acted as an introduction to the game, it was crucial to add a layer of interactivity on top of the storytelling nature of the design.
3D assets, micro animations and subtle hover effects combine to bring an eerie touch of the game to the website.
Mapping The Ritual
The site also needed to educate. We carried out a UX workshop with the Deceit team to map out the intricacies of the game, the features and assets. A key section of the site that was crafted was the ‘Case Files’ pages.
From here, players can start to unpick the story of Deceit before release and take their interest further by joining the community across various social channels.
