Vita Student is an award-winning provider of luxury student accommodation in some of the UK's largest cities. Vita approached us to create a user generated content competition to appeal to their target audience. They wanted the competition to boost social engagement, drive brand awareness and increase quality traffic.
We established that most users would be accessing the competition via mobile, so we opted for a mobile-first approach. We tailored our design and build for an effortless experience on smaller screens.
Boosting Social Engagement and Brand Awareness
We worked closely with Vita to create a custom build platform that enhanced their brand. We chose the Laravel framework for the project. This framework provides high security and the flexibility for us to develop an interface in line with Vita's requirements. We added features to meet the needs and expectations of Vita’s typical customer, including the option to register with social media.
As a result, the competition was extremely popular. Vita received over 1200 submissions in the first 4 weeks.
We created 4 unique illustrations to guide the user through registration and submitting an entry. This gave users a great visual experience and made the process clear and intuitive.
Designed for the User From the Ground Up
We wanted the platform to be as user-friendly as possible to maximise the number of submissions. From the first wireframes through to functioning mock-ups and the final build, we developed the platform with the user’s journey in mind.
Fluid User Experience
With our focus on creating a simple and fluid experience for contestants, we worked with care to perfect the UX of the finished platform. We created an engaging interface that’s easy for everyone to use. This attention to detail paid off. Both Vita and our team at Supremo were thrilled by the competition’s success.
Although we’d taken a mobile-first approach we wanted the microsite to feel equally engaging on larger devices. We developed the platform to be fully responsive across all devices and screen sizes, making it accessible to all potential contestants.
Social Media Intergration
We added social media API's to the site so users could enter the contest with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram profiles. This made sign-up much simpler than typical registration forms, enhancing the user’s experience and encouraging submissions.
Bespoke Admin Area
To give Vita full control over the contest we developed a bespoke admin area. This let Vita efficiently moderate all entries. The Vita team could easily approve entries, remove any ineligible ones and select the finalists.
